Monocable Detachable Gondola (MDG) Technology

Utilizing advanced Monocable Detachable Gondola (MDG) Technology, the Varanasi Ropeway Project is designed to carry an impressive 3000 passengers per hour per direction. With 29 towers and 16 hours of operation per day, this project promises efficient and reliable connectivity.

Foundation Stone Laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi

A significant moment in India’s transportation history, the foundation stone of the Varanasi ropeway project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24, 2023, signaling the commencement of this groundbreaking initiative.

Reducing Travel Time

Efficiency in Transit

The Varanasi Ropeway is set to revolutionize travel, reducing the travel time by approximately 65%, from 45 minutes by road to just 16 minutes via the ropeway, enhancing connectivity and easing congestion.

The Varanasi Ropeway Project will feature five stations, including Varanasi Cantt., Vidya Peeth (Bharatmala Mandir), Rath Yatra, Girja Ghar, and Godowlia Chowk, strategically placed to cater to the needs of travelers and residents alike.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Elevating Travel Experience

The Varanasi Ropeway will offer a state-of-the-art travel experience, boasting amenities such as baby care rooms, office space, a dormitory, a budget hotel, local cuisine, a food court, and a solar rooftop. With 153 Gandolas/Cabins, each accommodating 10 passengers, comfort and convenience are prioritized.
