Saat Kalyan Lok Marg was earlier known as Panchavati. India’s first Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi lived here from 1984 to 2014. Narendra Modi has been living in this government bungalow since 26 May 2014. This bungalow is spread over 12 acres of land. It was built between 1920 and 1930. Its design was made by Edwin Lutyens’ team’s architect Robert R. Russell.

The special thing is that there are not one but five bungalows in this Prime Minister’s residence. However, the Prime Minister lives in bungalow number 5. Apart from this, there are bungalows numbered 1, 3, 7 and 9 in this complex. The drawing room of these bungalows is so big that 30 people can sit together. The Prime Minister’s office is in bungalow number 7. The soldiers engaged in the security of the PM live in bungalow number 9. Bungalow number 3 is a guest house, while the Prime Minister’s helipad is built in bungalow number 1.
