Passport Exceptions
Passport is not required to go to some countries from India. You are allowed to travel to these countries only with one of your photo ID cards. These two countries are Bhutan and Nepal.
Travel to Bhutan and Nepal
You can carry Voter ID card to go to Bhutan. At the same time, children will have to carry their birth certificate or educational school ID card (Aadhaar card). If you want to go to Nepal, then you can avail air service to Kathmandu, Nepal from all the major airports of India. According to Nepal’s advisory, Indians only need documents that prove their Indian citizenship. For this, they can show voter identity card or Aadhar card.
Visa-Free Travel Destinations
Apart from Bhutan and Nepal, there are some countries where a passport is necessary but a visa is not required. In total, there are 58 travel destinations around the world where you can travel without a visa. These countries include Maldives, Mauritius, Thailand, Macau, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Kenya, Myanmar, Qatar, Cambodia, Uganda, Seychelles, Zimbabwe, and Iran.
