Golden Globe-nominated actress Sharon Tate is best known for her role in ‘Valley of the Dolls’. She was also the wife of director Roman Polanski. On August 9, 1969, Tate was eight and a half months pregnant. Famous hair stylist Jay Sebring, writer Wojciech Frykowski and Abigail Folger were also killed along with her. These murders were shown in the film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’. It was later revealed that these murders were committed by members of Charles Manson’s family. Manson, who wanted to be a musician, had earlier tried to get a record deal from filmmaker Terry Melcher. Reports claim that Melcher was very agitated and took revenge on Sharon.
Horrific death of a beautiful Hollywood actress
According to ‘Helter Skelter Magazine’, Manson allegedly asked Tex Watson to take Susan Atkins, Linda Kasabian and Patricia Krenwinkel to the house where Melcher used to live and gave them all the same horrific death as possible. All the murders happened at midnight
According to Helter Skelter, Watson was the first man to arrive in the house shortly after midnight on August 9. He encountered the sleeping Frykowski and proceeded to kick him in the head. Stabbed 28 to 51 times
At Watson’s behest, Atkins allegedly found the rest of the people in the house and Watson tied Tate and Sebring with rope around their necks and then hung them from a ceiling beam. According to Bugliosi, when Sebring abused the pregnant Tate, Watson shot him. Helter Skelter said that both Frykowski and Folger did not try to save them. They were stabbed approximately 51 and 28 times respectively.
Tate’s blood wrote ‘pig’ on the door
According to Helter Skelter, before leaving for Cielo Drive, Manson allegedly left a sign at the spot after the women were murdered. He had written some strange things there. The book goes on to suggest that Atkins used Tate’s blood to write pig on the front door.
Heartbreaking scene seen early in the morning
The bodies were found the next morning by Sharon Tate’s landlord, Winifred Chapman, and police later found Steven Parent, who was visiting the property’s caretaker, William Garrettson, shot to death in his car. The bodies of Frykowski and Folger lay on the front lawn, and inside the house, the bodies of Tate and Sebring were found in the living room, four feet apart from each other, with a long rope tied around their necks.
