Jonathan Majors, the acclaimed actor, was sentenced today by a New York judge to participate in a domestic violence treatment program. This follows his conviction over three months ago on charges of reckless assault and harassment. The one-year intervention program will take place in LA, where Majors resides.

Facing the Consequences

Present in Judge Michael Gaffey’s Manhattan courtroom, Majors faced the possibility of up to a year in jail for his convictions. Despite pleading not guilty, he was convicted by a jury of three men and three women after a three-week trial. Alongside the intervention program, Judge Gaffey issued a permanent order of protection against any contact with the victim, Grace Jabbari. Majors is also required to continue therapy and is prohibited from owning a gun.

Potential Penalties

Any violation of the sentencing terms could lead to Majors being incarcerated for up to 364 days. Moreover, failure to complete the West Coast intervention program could result in a six-month jail sentence.

Legal Proceedings

Majors faced a total of four misdemeanor charges, including intentional assault and aggravated harassment. However, he was not convicted on these counts. Despite being present throughout the trial, Majors did not testify.

Victim Impact

Grace Jabbari, the victim, was present in court during the sentencing. She delivered a victim impact statement, expressing concerns about Majors’ behavior and his disregard for the law.

Courtroom Scene

Majors arrived at court accompanied by actress Meagan Good and carrying a Bible. Despite his supporters being present, Jabbari’s voice was heard as she addressed the court.
