The Lord of the Rings actor Ian McKellen fell on stage, was hospitalized

Sad news has come out about actor Sir Ian McKellen, who played the role of Gandalf in the Hollywood film The Lord of the Rings. On the evening of 17 June 2024, he was performing at a theater in London. During the performance, his health deteriorated and he fell on stage. After this he was admitted to the hospital and the show was stopped midway. The actor is 85 years old and his condition remains stable at the moment. An update has also come regarding the actor’s health.

According to reports, the actor was doing a fight scene in the theater, during which he lost his balance and fell. Everyone panicked at the sound of his screams. The stage lights were lit and two doctors named Rachel and Lee from the crowd reached Ian and took his news. McKellen was admitted to the hospital and now his condition remains stable. Currently, the show has been cancelled and rescheduled for the 18th so that McKellen can recover well.

The statement from the actor said- ‘Thank you very much to everyone for the well wishes given to Ian McKellen by the audience after he fell during the performance in the evening. The NHS team believes that the actor will recover completely soon. He has not suffered a serious injury. He is fine at the moment.’ Talking about the 85-year-old actor, he has been doing films and theatre for the last 60 years. He is known for playing the important character of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings. He is known for playing plays like The Promise, Edward 2, Macbeth, Hamlet, The Cherry Orchard and Mother Goose. Apart from this, he is known for Priest of Love, Scandal, The Shadow, Richard 3, Gods and Monsters, Stardust, The Wolverine, All is True and The Critic.
