Shahid Kapoor plays a robotic scientist in ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ who falls in love with Sifra, a female robot.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, starring Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles, experienced a downturn at the box office. The film marks the directorial debut of Aradhana Sah and Amit Joshi, who also penned the romantic story. Despite an initial surge, the movie’s earnings plateaued after its first few days in theaters. According to Sacnilk.com, within just four days of its release, the film managed to accumulate over Rs 30 crore in India.
Breaking down its performance, the movie collected Rs 6.7 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 9.65 crore on the second day, and Rs 10.75 crore on the third day. Early estimates suggest that ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ grossed approximately Rs 3.75 crore nett on its fourth day. In total, the film has garnered a net earning of Rs 30.85 crore in India thus far.
The film ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ introduces a subplot titled ‘Sifra versus The Classic Indian Family’, which is considered one of the major elements within the storyline. However, this subplot seems to present a plethora of underdeveloped characters and sketches, primarily aiming for superficial humor rather than meaningful contribution to the narrative. It’s suggested that removing some of these elements would hardly impact the essence of the film or its intended message. The critique also highlights a missed opportunity in fully exploring the character portrayed by veteran actor Dharmendra, who portrays Aaryan’s (Shahid Kapoor) grandfather in the movie.
In the film, Shahid Kapoor takes on the role of a robotic scientist who ultimately falls in love with and marries the character Sifra, portrayed by Kriti Sanon, an intelligent female robot. The cast also includes Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia. ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar. The film premiered in theaters on February 9.
