Kerala is set to revolutionize the digital entertainment landscape with the launch of CSpace, India’s pioneering government-backed OTT platform. Scheduled for debut this Thursday, CSpace aims to offer a distinctive fusion of informative and entertaining content tailored for diverse audiences.
Inaugural Ceremony
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the OTT platform at Kairali Theatre on March 7th at 9.30 am, with Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian presiding over the event.

Shaji N Karun, renowned film director and Chairman of Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC), highlighted that CSpace emerges as a response to the evolving challenges in the OTT sector concerning content curation and dissemination.
Management and Curation
Managed by KSFDC, on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala, CSpace boasts a curator panel comprising 60 distinguished members from Kerala’s cultural sphere. Notable personalities include Benyamin, OV Usha, Santhosh Sivan, and Shyamaprasad, among others.
Content Selection Process
CSpace employs a meticulous content selection process, with each submission evaluated by three curators for its artistic, cultural, and infotainment value. Only content endorsed by the panel will be featured on the platform.

Transparent Operations
CSpace distinguishes itself with transparent operations, ensuring clarity in earnings and revenue sharing. Operating on a pay-per-view model, viewers can access feature films for ₹75, with half of the proceeds benefiting content providers.
Content Diversity and Accessibility
The platform offers a diverse array of content, including feature films, documentaries, and short films. Viewers can download the CSpace app from the PlayStore and App Store starting March 7th, making entertainment accessible to all.

Preserving Theatrical Releases
In response to concerns from exhibitors and distributors regarding dwindling profits due to direct releases on OTT platforms, CSpace will exclusively showcase films that have premiered in cinema halls.

CSpace is exploring initiatives to support film professionals, including setting aside funds for their welfare and facilitating crowdfunding for production costs.
