Filmmaker Siddharth Anand addressed the issue over a kissing scene a between Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.
In recent events, the film ‘Fighter’, featuring the notable talents of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, found itself embroiled in a legal dispute concerning a scene depicting an intimate moment. Filmmaker Siddharth Anand, in an interview with The Times of India, delved into the matter, affirming the movie’s development occurred in “full alignment with the IAF.”
According to Siddharth Anand’s conversation with The Times of India, the Indian Air Force played a substantial role as a collaborating partner throughout the film’s production journey.
“This cinematic creation underwent meticulous scrutiny alongside the IAF, commencing from the script’s submission, progressing through production arrangements, undergoing multiple screenings prior to the censor board’s assessment, subsequent review sessions within the IAF’s domain, culminating in the issuance of a formal No Objection Certificate (NOC). Following this meticulous process, we acquired the requisite certifications. We conducted an exclusive screening for the entirety of the Air Force personnel, including Air Force Chief, Mr. Chaudhary, and more than a hundred Air Marshals from various regions across the nation. We extended invitations to them for a preview a day before the film’s official unveiling in Delhi, which garnered an enthusiastic standing ovation,” the director articulated.
Further elucidating, the director expressed bewilderment regarding the source of grievances, asserting that the entity behind the complaints lacked affiliations with the IAF.
“Our investigations with the relevant authorities revealed the absence of any individual matching the purported complainant within the IAF ranks. Thus, the identity of the complainant remains a perplexing enigma to us. Engaging in societal critique is a commonplace occurrence within our industry, a reality we have grown accustomed to,” he elucidated.
According to reports aired on India TV last week, a legal notification was issued by Wing Commander Saumya Deep Das of the Indian Air Force. The correspondence critiqued a specific scene featuring a kiss involving the primary cast members adorned in official attire on an airstrip, denouncing the portrayal for normalizing inappropriate conduct within the military garb.
