The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks against actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Terming Gandhi’s comments as “slurs,” the BJP accused him of stooping to a new low by “demeaning” Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

BJP’s Rebuke

In a tweet, the Karnataka BJP criticized Rahul Gandhi’s disparaging remarks, highlighting his frustration and alleging that he resorted to demeaning Aishwarya Rai Bachchan due to repeated rejections from the Indian populace. Describing Gandhi as a “fourth-generation dynast” with no tangible achievements, the BJP emphasized Aishwarya Rai’s contributions to India’s glory, contrasting them with Gandhi’s family legacy.

Karnataka BJP’s Challenge to Siddaramaiah

The Karnataka BJP also targeted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, questioning his silence in the face of Rahul Gandhi’s insults directed at a fellow Kannadiga. The party called upon Siddaramaiah to uphold his proclaimed Kannada pride and speak out against such disrespect, urging him to prioritize the interests of the state over political considerations.

Exposing Gandhi’s Remarks

In addition to their verbal assault, the BJP shared video clips of Rahul Gandhi’s comments regarding Aishwarya Rai’s purported presence at the Ram Mandir ceremony on January 22. Despite Aishwarya Rai’s absence at the event, Gandhi took a swipe at her and other prominent figures, alleging a lack of representation of the OBC community.

Rahul Gandhi’s Allegations

During his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra march in Prayagraj, Rahul Gandhi criticized the attendance of celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Narendra Modi at the Ram temple event. He questioned the absence of OBC representation, igniting controversy and drawing condemnation from the BJP.

BJP’s Condemnation of Silence

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also targeted Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for her silence on Rahul Gandhi’s “misogynistic” remarks against Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Poonawalla questioned Priyanka’s failure to address the issue and urged the Samajwadi Party (SP) to denounce Gandhi’s comments, particularly given their impact on their own MP’s family.

The BJP’s swift and vocal response to Rahul Gandhi’s comments reflects the party’s commitment to defending the dignity of public figures and challenging divisive rhetoric. As political tensions escalate, the controversy surrounding Gandhi’s remarks underscores the complexities of inter-party dynamics and the enduring influence of celebrity culture in Indian politics.
